The Maryland Food Bank (MFB) welcomed corporate partners to its Baltimore headquarters on Thursday, May 7 for a Corporate Volunteer Appreciation Event, recognizing companies that have made a meaningful impact through both volunteer service and financial support.
Collectively, the Maryland Food Bank’s top corporate partners have contributed approximately $12.3 million in lifetime donations and the equivalent of $333,165 in volunteer hours over the past three years, helping expand access to nutritious food for communities across the state.
During the event, the Maryland Food Bank recognized its top three partners in combined economic impact:
- Giant Food – 288 volunteer hours (equivalent to $8,928 worth of labor) and more than $4 million in financial contributions over 32 years of partnership.
- Northrop Grumman – 1,853 volunteer hours (equivalent to $57,450 worth of labor) and $309,000 in financial contributions over 18 years of partnership.
- T. Rowe Price – 1,147 volunteer hours (equivalent to $35,572.50 worth of labor) and $1.2 million in financial contributions over 37 years of partnership.
“Corporate partners play a critical role in advancing our mission to end hunger for more Marylanders. Through both hands-on volunteerism and long-term financial support, these partnerships – built over years, sometimes decades – help ensure neighbors across Maryland have access to the nutritious food they need to thrive and allow us to grow our impact and better serve communities over time,” said Elise Krikau, Chief Philanthropy Officer, Maryland Food Bank.
The event highlighted the importance of corporate engagement in addressing food insecurity, while celebrating the individuals and teams who dedicate their time and resources to the Maryland Food Bank’s work.![]()
